Dental materials testing before dental restorative work is completed can provide some patients with peace of mind.

This test helps individually identify chemical groups and families of compounds that may pose a threat to the patient. Analyzing immune records of antibodies, systemic sensitivities are identified and cross-referenced with a database of dental materials. Our doctors will provide you with a blood serum draw prescription, Clifford lab kit, and paperwork. These items are taken to your physician or medical laboratory where your blood is drawn, appropriately packaged, and shipped to Clifford Consulting and Research. A computer tests specific dental materials according to their compatibility with the acupuncture meridian system. The computer quantitatively measures any energetic flow disruption in your acupuncture meridians due to specific dental materials. For this type of testing, a Dental Materials Testing Kit is checked out from WDH to bring to your Holistic Health Care Provider. The EDS results are documented on the Dental Materials Testing Form and returned to our office for review.

This technique is based upon the activity of muscles and the relationship of muscle strength to health. Specific dental materials are placed within your electromagnetic field and your subsequent muscle strength or weakness is documented. For this type of testing, a Dental Materials Testing Kit is checked out from TKDDS to bring to your Holistic Health Care Provider. The AK results are documented on the Dental Materials Testing Form and returned to our office for review.

A medical intuitive is an Alternative Medicine Practitioner who uses self-described intuitive abilities to determine which dental materials are potentially the least reactive/disruptive to the individual physiology. Some practitioners require a Dental Materials Testing kit, some require only the Dental Materials List. The intuitive results are documented on the Dental Materials Testing Form and returned to our office for review.

No test or tester is infallible and some people choose to combine the results from more than one test. Others who are not concerned with possible reactions to dental materials choose to do no testing at all and instead use a material which has a statistically low reactivity in the general healthy population. Our doctors do not endorse or recommend any particular treatment, method or practitioner. Nor do they require biocompatibility testing before dental treatment. It is the patient’s personal choice on whether biocompatibility testing is appropriate and which testing method applies to the individual situation.
