Expectations after Dental Treatment

Temperature Sensitivity

Your tooth/teeth may be sensitive to temperature after dental treatment, this is normal and largely due to inflammation caused by the dental procedure. Tooth sensitivity usually resolves on its own over time. However, if you are experiencing discomfort for longer than 7 days, please contact our office.

Pressure Sensitivity

Your tooth/teeth may be sensitive to biting pressure after dental treatment, this is normal and largely due to inflammation caused by the dental procedure. Pressure sensitivity usually resolves on its own over time. However, if the tooth/teeth feel “too tall” or you are not able to fit all of your teeth together in a comfortable biting position, please contact our office immediately.

Tissue Trauma

Your gum tissues may be tender, bruised or abraded after your dental procedure, this is normal and most likely will heal without any intervention. However, if you are experiencing tissue discomfort for longer than 7 days, please contact our office.

Soreness at the Injection Site

You may have soreness, inflammation and/or bruising at the site where the local anesthetic was delivered, this is normal and usually resolves on its own over time.
