At Wellspring Dental Health, we choose materials and techniques that support whole-body wellness, not just oral health. One of the solutions we use for oral disinfection is Povi-One, a dental-specific povidone-iodine formula. It’s gentle, effective, and aligns beautifully with a biologic, holistic approach to care.
What Is Povi-One?
Povi-One is a purified povidone-iodine rinse designed to reduce harmful bacteria, viruses, and fungi in the mouth. Unlike harsher antiseptics that can disrupt the oral microbiome, Povi-One works by interfering with cavity-causing bacteria’s ability to adhere to tooth surfaces, helping protect vulnerable areas without disturbing overall microbial balance.
Indications for Use
Povi-One may be recommended to help:
- Protect early (incipient) carious lesions
- Support patients with moderate to high caries risk
- Strengthen vulnerable areas associated with gum recession
- Promote gum health by soothing inflamed tissues and reducing periodontal pathogens
- Support patients with dry mouth or airway issues that increase cavity risk
- Protect children undergoing orthodontic treatment
Safe, Natural, and Evidence-Supported
Povidone-iodine has a decades-long history of safe medical use. Povi-One simply adapts this well-studied ingredient into a formulation designed specifically for dentistry, making it a trusted, holistic, and biologically compatible part of our preventive care strategy.
